The prefectural capital is Saga.
Saga Prefecture is located in the northwestern part of Kyushu. And it is in contact with Fukuoka Prefecture and Nagasaki Prefecture. The distance in a straight line to Tokyo of Saga Prefecture is about 900 km. Moreover, the distance in a straight line to Osaka is about 500 km. And the distance in a straight line to the Korean Peninsula is about 200 km. Saga Prefecture plays an important role as a window of continent culture.
It with many fish catch of the dried seaweed, shellfish, a scad, mackerel, a cuttlefish, an octopus, and a shrimp to Saga Prefecture occupies 90 percent of surrounding ocean areas.
The Saga plain is warm climate also in winter. Therefore, it is a prosperous grain belt of cereals. Moreover, there is much production of a strawberry, a mandarin orange, and a pear. Especially the annual crop yields of a house mandarin orange are the 1st in Japan.
